Infectious Cellulitis

The truth is that in the stable of Mr. Ulises Escobar, which is called "Rancho 5.L" located in the town of Paracotos, Miranda State, we were checking the animals without finding any

novelty or something out of the ordinary. During the journey Mr. Ulises, reports that one of

his horses was in the stable with a limp,; We immediately went to see and found a beautiful

mare destined for cutting, with a wound at the level of the radial extensor muscle of the

carpus; which originated by a loose barbed wire.

At first glance we noticed that the animal had a fairly inflamed area, which was due to an

infectious cellulitis that is nothing more than an infection caused by different types of

bacteria, which normally live on the surface of the skin and do not cause infection until this

is broken for some reason Streptococci and Staphylococci are the main causes.

Immediately we proceed to wash the area with water and blue soap, shave the areas near

the wound, to ensure a better asepsis and a decrease in the prevalence of microorganisms

near the wound.

The process begins by covering the wound with a kind of absorbable gauze, as shown in the
photo; this with the purpose of diminishing the door of entrance to other bacteria and to
flies that originate or worsen the state of the animal.

The gauze is fixed with taut plaster to avoid the fall of itself.

Dr. Carlos Federico Rodríguez recommends using a product called "Injectable Floxsil from
Laboratories Silvestri" in these cases, due to its rapid and effective action, the injectable
Floxil contains Enrofloxacin, as an active ingredient and acts as a broad spectrum
antibacterial.

After 7 days

This process of cleaning the wound with water and blue soap, is repeated by placing new
bandages as we repeat the dose of injectable Floxil.

After 7 days we observed the rapid improvement of the animal, thanks to the kindness
offered by the injectable Floxsil from silvestri laboratories, demonstrating once again the
quality of its products and the "FE" of those we trust using them.

Likewise, it is recommended to have dry, clean bandages and place the specimen in a clean
position that ensures hygiene and full recovery.
